KANSAS HAD A TWO DAY STORM!!

The two days of racing in Kansas were some of the most excitiog on record for the SMRS.  Young Donnie Ray Crawford had a weekend sweep going until driveline failure in the Sun. night feature sidelined him while leading.  He had won five races in a row until then.  The main thing about these races were the finishes.  Track Owner Terry Robbins at Minneapolis said if they didn't like that they didn't like racing.  A big sheet would cover the first six cars.  These guys were rubbing and sparking things all the way to the checkers.  These drivers are very good indeed.  Sunday night saw more of the same.  After Crawfords problems Taylor took over and led to the end, but not with much to spare.  Young Jonathon Halford from Tulsa took the Tulsa Truck Paint and Repair Beast Sesco-Mopar to second for his best SMRS finish to date.  Watch out for this kid, it is his first year in Midgets.  There were too many great finishes to beleive on this great week end.  The weather was not good but the crowds came.  It was full house at Minneapolis and a good crown at 81.  I will put the complete finishes on here tomorrow.  Thanks Guys and Gals to all of you who came and supported these races.  I think we will probably be going back soon.    Thats it for now from Sallisaw OK. USA via Versailles Mo.

Brewer will supply tires in 2008

Cody Brewer Racing is SMRS Tire Supplier

Cody Brewer Racing of Choctaw Oklahoma is the exclusive tire dealer for the SMRS, beginning with opening day at the Outlaw Motor Speedway in Wainwright Oklahoma. Cody has been an SMRS regular for several years and we are glad to have him selling tires. Cody plans to make all the races, but if something happens he can’t, he will still send tires. Cody has offered a very nice contribution to the 2008 point fund so I hope everyone will support him.

ENGINE RULE CHANGE

Starting on July 5th, 2004 the SMRS will no longer place any restrictions on engine size. This will provide for an open competition engine Midget Series. All other SMRS rules will remain the same. We feel like this change will bring new ideas and engine applications to the sport of Midget Racing. With the current Midget engine situation, we hope the rule change will bring new engines and more reasonable prices to the sport. This rule change will be in effect for the July 16th Race at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley Mo.
